Mobile TV Station
I’ve read with interest the movement of YouTube into providing live webcasting/streaming for users but I wasn’t aware that there are already other companies providing the same service.
QIK.com provides a 3G connected phone (with video camera) to broadcast almost live online from a range of Nokia devices (with more to come, no doubt), while Flixwagon.com can be combined with Twitter, although the service is still in Alpha testing.
This all means, of course, that websites can provide live video content – programming, basically – and anyone, anywhere, can show what they want, to whoever they want, wherever they want.
It is quite a big step, and will push the web onto the next stage of its evolution…
