Mobile Bill – Mortgage Required

This isn’t really a serious post at all – more of an enquiry.

Basically, it concerns a chap from Calgary in Canada who ran up a mobile bill of around £41,000.

Piotr Staniaszek had been under the impression that he could use his new phone as a modem for his computer under his $10 unlimited mobile browser plan from Bell Mobility, and had prevoiusly been informed if he exceeded his usual bill.

While Bell Mobility reduced the bill considerably, Staniaszek was adamant that he would continue to fight the charge.

However I’ve not been able to find any more to this – did Bell Mobility back down, clarify their terms, and improve their systems for preventing users from running up such high bills?

If anyone out there knows the end to this story, let me know!
