Windows Manilla

There’s always another mobile UI or OS to look at these days, and the latest one to grab Gadget Monkey’s attention is Windows Mobile Manilla, a customised interface for Windows Mobile 6.1 from those chaps at HTC.

As Windows Mobile overlays go, it’s pretty tasty; if Windows Mobile 6.1 allows this level of customization then there is hope for it yet.

Unlike most of these post-iPhone displays, however, Manilla controls the display of all HTC developed apps, not just the Today screen.  What we have as a result is a pretty funky interface.  An iPhone killer?  no, but definitely something to help us forget the old days of Windows Mobile.

Fingers crossed for a build for all current HTC models… this one looks like a winner.
