If the accompanying image is anything to go by, the rumoured 3G iPhone (ie the next version to be released) is set to have firmware to enable the use of the 3G network - this surely is the clincher.

This is of course long, long overdue and something that the device should have had as standard.

After months of speculation, it is a good bet that this finally confirms the 3G compatibility of the next iPhone - and with the device currently unavailable in the UK, it gives us something to look forward to!

Looks like they’re finally getting the mobile market - perhaps they’ll do away with demanding money for the device when entering into a contract with a network next?
