Where art thou, Vario II?
Well, the answer’s quite simple. It’s gone to T-Mobile to find out why the touch screen has stopped working.
In a tear-inducing moment on Wednesday, between turning off the alarm and getting to work, the touch screen interface on my T-Mob Vario II decided it wasn’t going to let me in any more.
What’s more, my relationship with the keyboard is such that I had no idea there was an asterisk on it, and I spent the next two days locking and unlocking via trial version of the neat little virtual mobile desktop tool called mDesktop.
So this morning saw me venture into the local town centre – I’m not a big shopper – to arrange sending the device to be repaired/replaced. I hoped and prayed for a similar phone, one that I could at least pick up email via POP, for instance.
But no, what I got – while cute and compact – is clumsy, buttons too small for my big fingers and without any serious “phone+” elements was a Motorola c140.
To say that I’m disappointed is putting it mildly, especially given the Vario II is just 3 months from an upgrade…
