Microblogging on Windows Mobile
Microblogging is a superb way of keeping things up to date and emoting brief thoughts from anyone interesting, and since the takeup of Twitter, there are several applications for the desktop environment that let you let them keep tabs on you – I currently user TWhirl.
When I’m out and about, however, I user Tiny Twitter on my Touch Diamond. It’s a third-party app which I have synched with Facebook to keep all of my simple exclamations and w00t-able stuff in one place.
I’m often to be found updating my Twitter feed (astonished to find I have 13 followers!) whilst in the midst of a train journey, supermarket trip or other, and it really is a great tool for pointing people at something, whether that something is a link, a photo, an opinion or even a location for a get together.
Apparently Twitter has seen usage increase 485% over the first half of 2008, so this is an online social trend that is certainly here to stay.
