O2 Broadband
It came as a surprise to learn that my wife’s mobile provider was offering broadband access via the landline.
As a customer of Be, I was interested to learn that their parent company O2 was offering ADSL2 for £10 less – and it was a bit of a no brainer to make a switch.
With Be a subsidiary of my destination provider, I didn’t have to give 90 days notice or pay any transfer costs – in fact I started the process on Friday 15th and was hooked up on Friday 22nd, with no downtime.
Download times don’t seem to have decreased much – I’m a little distance from the local exchange, so the 8mb package I was on with Be offered little advantage.
I’m yet to test online gaming, but all in all I’m very happy with the new package.
As a current O2 customer via my wife’s contract phone, we get a £5 discount on the standard £12.50 price of the package – not a bad saving at all.
