Sony DCR-DVD110 DVD Handycam with X40 Zoom
This Sony Handycam is a superb piece of kit, and definitely the top dog in the sub-£200 price range for DVD camcorders. Equipped with a Carl Zeiss lens that allows and excellent 40x optical zoom, this allows an astonishing 2000x digital zoom.
There’s also the option to record directly onto USB 2.0 flash ram, while an 8cm dual layer DVD will record 2 hours of footage. Naturally the USB 2.0 flash ram storage option is less battery-intensive as there are no mechanical parts needed to store the images on this medium.
I previously owned an earlier version of this camera, and there have been noticeable improvements in the features, such as image stabilisation, while the view display and UI have evolved naturally and continue to be intuitive and easy to use.
That’s probably this cams selling point – it is literally point and click, a quality enhanced by the “Quick On” function – and it should put this Sony DVD Handycam top of your shopping list in this price range.
