Windows Mobile 6.1
Again in the world of mobile phones and computing, Pocket Lint claim that Microsoft are announcing the release of Windows Mobile 6.1 on the same day as the keynote address at the CTIA Wireless conference in Las Vegas by Microsoft’s Robbie Bach, head of the Windows Mobile team.
Following the impact of the Apple iPhone, Windows Mobile 6.1 is expected to be more than a minor upgrade to the existing Windows Mobile 6 platform. Yet it isn’t a full upgrade.
Expect a moderately retooled “carousel” interface, and several software improvements such as threaded SMS or full page zooming in IE (finally!). Expect also improvements in speed.
1. SMS Chat view Mode
2. Speed
3. Getting Started
4. Radically improved IE
5. Managing programs
6. Task Manager
7. Office One Note, and office suite.

Will these developments bridge the gap for iPhone coveters?
